Marketplace commissions and fees in 2026, compared

Marketplaces charge in different ways: some take a percentage of the net goods value, others of the gross price with delivery included, and some add a monthly plan on top. This page puts the published rates of eighteen platforms side by side, each with its source and the date we checked it. Where a platform publishes nothing, the table says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.

In brief

Polish marketplace commissions usually run at 8% to 10% of the price. Across platforms and categories the spread is 1% to 17%, and 45% for Amazon device accessories.

Rates use different bases: Kaufland the gross price with shipping, Allegro the price with delivery at a net rate, Erli a rate that includes VAT.

Nine of the nineteen platforms publish no price list. Where there is none, we say so.

Below are the commissions, fixed fees and fulfilment of nineteen platforms used by Polish manufacturers, from Allegro, the largest marketplace in Poland, onwards. Each rate has its source and check date. Where a platform publishes no price list, we say so instead of guessing.

The key point of this table is invisible: rates are calculated on different amounts. On Kaufland the percentage applies to the gross price including shipping. On Allegro it applies to the price including delivery, but the rate itself is net and VAT is added on the invoice. On Erli the commission already includes VAT. The same 10% on three platforms gives three different amounts, so check the base before comparing.

How to read a marketplace commission: gross, net, with or without delivery

Ask three questions on every platform. Does the rate include VAT? What amount is it calculated on, the price with or without VAT? And does the delivery charge paid by the buyer count towards the base?

On Allegro the rate is net, and the base is the price plus the delivery charge. The platform adds VAT on the commission invoice, so if you are VAT-registered, your cost is the net amount. With free Allegro Smart delivery, the base is the price alone and you pay towards the parcel separately.

On Kaufland the commission is calculated on the gross selling price, which already includes shipping and VAT. On cheap products with paid delivery this matters: at a price of PLN 40 (EUR 9.17) with PLN 12 (EUR 2.75) delivery, you pay commission on PLN 52.

On Erli, a Polish general marketplace, rates are gross. The commission rules in the version of 1 October 2026 state that the commission is ‘always a gross amount’ and already includes VAT. The 10.52% furniture rate from the price list effective 3 March 2026 works out at about 8.55% without VAT. That is less than the 9% on Allegro, although at first glance it looks the other way round. The base is the product price plus delivery, unless delivery is in the Erli PRO programme or costs PLN 0.

On Modivo, a Polish fashion platform, the commission is a net percentage of the gross order value (goods plus shipping), with VAT added. On Media Expert the base is the value of the sales contract including delivery; on TikTok Shop it is the value of the fulfilled order including VAT.

The table also hides thresholds and caps. Amazon.pl has price-dependent rates: for home products 8% up to PLN 85 (EUR 19.48) and 10% above, for clothing 5% up to PLN 65 (EUR 14.90) and 10% above, always with a minimum fee of PLN 1 (EUR 0.23) per unit. In most furniture and construction subcategories, the Allegro commission is capped at PLN 250 (EUR 57.30) per unit (the Accessories and Other subcategories have no cap), and on Erli at PLN 292.10 (EUR 66.94) in furniture. On expensive products the effective rate falls well below the listed one.

Marketplace fees beyond commission: subscription, delivery, advertising, returns

Commission is rarely the whole cost of a channel. On Amazon.pl the Professional plan costs PLN 165.91 (EUR 38.02) net per month, and at a smaller scale you can choose the Individual plan at PLN 4 (EUR 0.92) per unit sold. Above 41 sales a month, the subscription works out cheaper. The Basic plan on Kaufland costs PLN 175 (EUR 40.11) net, but that one fee covers all Kaufland markets, Germany included.

Delivery is the second big cost. With Allegro Smart you pay PLN 1.59 (EUR 0.36) to PLN 9.99 (EUR 2.29) gross towards each parcel sent to InPost parcel lockers, depending on the order value. With FBA on Amazon you pay a fulfilment fee from PLN 3.04 (EUR 0.70) for a light envelope up to 20 g.

Most platforms charge for advertising per click. In Allegro Ads the minimum bid ranges from PLN 0.10 (EUR 0.02) to PLN 0.80 (EUR 0.18) per click depending on the category (from PLN 0.40 (EUR 0.09) in product categories), while Sponsored Products on Amazon run as an auction.

Returns work differently everywhere. After a return on Amazon.pl you get the commission back minus an administration fee: PLN 20 (EUR 4.58) or 20% of the commission, whichever is lower. On Allegro you recover the commission through a transaction rebate, which you request within 45 days if the sale fell through for reasons on the buyer side. On Empik the commission and platform fee are not refunded when a customer returns goods because of late dispatch, damage or a mismatch with the description.

Marketplaces that do not publish commission rates

Nine of the nineteen platforms in the table have no public commission price list. Zalando, Modivo, Temu, Castorama, Leroy Merlin, Super-Pharm, Black Red White, Douglas and OBI give the rate only in the contract or after reviewing your application. Any specific percentages you find online for them are from other countries, years old or third-party estimates.

For some we at least know the settlement rules. Castorama issues invoices on the 1st and 15th of the month, and the first one includes the subscription fee and the commission. Zalando fees split into a base fee, a marketplace services fee, a payment processing fee and the so-called Convenience Incentive.

Two platforms publish full rate grids as PDFs, which are easy to miss. Empik, a major Polish media retailer, has a ‘Siatka prowizji’ (commission grid) of 21 August 2026 with about 300 items and net rates next to gross ones. Media Expert, a leading Polish electronics chain, has ‘Tabela A’, valid from 13 August 2026, with 1,845 subcategories and gross rates. We link to both documents on the pages for these platforms.

If you already know the rate for a contract-based platform, enter it manually in the calculator. If you are still considering entry, ask us for details via the form next to the calculator.

Marketplace commissions outside Poland

If you plan to sell beyond Poland, rates go up. Kaufland has a shared 7-16% price list for Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, higher than the 4-12% on Kaufland.pl. On Amazon.de most categories carry 8-15%, consumer electronics and computers 7%, and low-priced items in some categories 5%. The minimum fee is EUR 0.30 per unit. In Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary, eMAG charges 7-25% depending on category.

You will find a comparison of German and Polish rates for the same categories on the Kaufland commissions and TikTok Shop commissions pages, and we cover entering Germany itself in our article on the PL-DACH corridor (Poland to Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

Frequently asked questions

What is the marketplace commission in Poland?

Usually 8-10% of the price, but the range is wide: from 1% in parts of the Health category on Allegro to 17% in the Other subcategories on Allegro. On Amazon.pl it is 45% for Amazon device accessories.

Which platform has the lowest commission?

It depends on the category. In furniture Allegro comes out lowest (9% net, max. PLN 250 (EUR 57.30) per unit in most subcategories), while Amazon.pl and Kaufland each take 10%. In electronics the lowest rates are on Amazon.pl (computers 3% up to PLN 2,000 (EUR 458.37) and 1.5 (EUR 0.34)% on the excess) and Allegro (from 2.5%).

Is the commission calculated on the price including VAT?

On most platforms, yes. Kaufland calculates it on the gross price including shipping and VAT, Allegro on the price including delivery, although the Allegro rate itself is net. Erli states its commission as a gross amount including VAT.

Does the commission cover the delivery charge?

On Allegro, Kaufland, Erli, Modivo and Media Expert, yes: the base is the price plus the delivery charge paid by the buyer. That is why free delivery lowers the commission base.

Which marketplaces do not publish their commissions?

Zalando, Modivo, Temu, Castorama, Leroy Merlin, Super-Pharm, Black Red White, Douglas and OBI. You get the rate in the contract or after your application is reviewed.

Do you have to pay a subscription on a marketplace?

Not everywhere. On Allegro the subscription is optional, Erli has none, and Empik offers a free Standard plan. Amazon.pl (PLN 165.91 (EUR 38.02) net per month or PLN 4 (EUR 0.92) per unit) and Kaufland (PLN 175 (EUR 40.11) net) charge a mandatory fixed fee.

What are marketplace commissions abroad?

In Germany and seven other countries Kaufland takes 7-16%, Amazon.de 8-15% in most categories, and eMAG 7-25% in Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.
