In brief

eMAG commission ranges from 7% to 25% depending on the category, and you only learn the exact rate from your seller contract.

Registration, account management and customer service cost 0, and there is no monthly subscription.

Fulfilment by eMAG starts at 3.40 RON or 3.99 RON per unit depending on the source, with free storage for the first 30 days.

You will not find the exact rate for your category in a public price list. You see it in the contract before you sign. Below we cover what eMAG publishes, what the Fulfilment by eMAG warehouse costs and how to work out your margin range before the commercial talks.

What is the eMAG sales commission

eMAG states on its seller page: “Comisionul variază între 7 și 25%, în funcție de categoria în care sunt produsele tale. Poți vedea grila de comisioane detaliată în contract.” In English: the commission varies between 7 and 25%, depending on the category your products are in, and you can see the detailed commission grid in the contract.

eMAG sets the commission rate in its contract with each seller. That is why this page has no category table, and you can compare it with platforms that publish full price lists in our marketplace commission overview. Ask for details

The price list also does not say whether commission is charged on the VAT-inclusive price or whether it covers delivery. Raise this in negotiations, as Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary have different VAT rates from Poland, and a different base changes the result on every unit.

What you do not pay for: account and customer service

eMAG lists three items at zero cost: registration, running the seller account and customer service (Customer Support). There is no monthly subscription. Your costs on eMAG only start with a sale or with FBE storage. This makes a market test easy, as you can check demand in Romania without a fixed monthly fee.

Fulfilment by eMAG: two amounts in two places

If you hand storage and shipping over to eMAG, you pay for processing each unit in an order. Here the official sources disagree. The FBE programme page says the fee starts at 3.40 RON (PLN 2.82 (EUR 0.65)) per unit. The fees and commissions page gives the same fee from 3.99 RON (PLN 3.31 (EUR 0.76)). Both pages are official, so before you calculate, ask your eMAG account manager which amount applies to your dimensions and weight.

Storage for each delivery into FBE is free for the first 30 days. After that the rate depends on the age of the stock, but the public pages give no amounts.

Example: eMAG commission on a 100 RON product, cost range

Take a garden lamp at 100 RON (PLN 82.90 (EUR 19.00)), shipped through FBE. We do not know the category rate, so we calculate both ends of the range.

  1. Commission at 7%: 7 RON (PLN 5.80 (EUR 1.33)).
  2. Commission at 25%: 25 RON (PLN 20.73 (EUR 4.75)).
  3. FBE processing: from 3.40 RON (PLN 2.82 (EUR 0.65)) or from 3.99 RON (PLN 3.31 (EUR 0.76)), depending on the source.
  4. Storage: 0 RON if the product sells within 30 days of delivery.
  5. Commission and FBE together: from 10.40 RON (PLN 8.62 (EUR 1.98)) to 28.99 RON (PLN 24.03 (EUR 5.51)) per unit.

The spread is wide, so base your eMAG entry budget on the rate in your contract, and until then work with the cautious scenario. The calculator lets you enter the rate manually once you know it.

What to agree before you sign the contract

Before you talk to eMAG, prepare a list of the categories you want to sell in and ask for the rate in each of them. Also ask about the commission base, the current FBE processing fee and storage rates after 30 days. Settle early on whether the contract covers one country or Bulgaria and Hungary as well. With these answers you can calculate the margin for each market separately.

How much will you keep on eMAG? Enter your price, product cost and the rate from your contract. You will see the margin next to platforms such as Allegro, the largest marketplace in Poland.
