In just a few years, Temu has become one of the world’s fastest-growing shopping platforms and is increasingly admitting local sellers from the European Union. If you’re considering selling on Temu, separate facts from marketing – this guide sticks to what the platform officially confirms.

In brief
Since December 2024 Temu has taken local sellers in Poland: you set the price, pack and own the deadline, and the platform brings traffic.
There is no price list. Agencies and integrators put commission at 8-15% in the local model and 2-5% in consignment, with no control over price.
Since 1 July 2026 non-EU parcels pay €3 per tariff line, so goods from a Polish warehouse gained on price.
Temu belongs to PDD Holdings (operator: WhaleCo) and launched in 2022 as a platform connecting buyers directly with manufacturers. For its first two years in Europe, sellers were mostly suppliers from China.
Since 17 December 2024 Temu has accepted local sellers in Poland, meaning companies registered in the country that ship from their own warehouse. The local programme now runs in 37 countries.
This changes the seller's role. In the local model you set the price, pack the order and answer for the deadline, while Temu provides traffic and exposure.
Temu does not publish a price list for sellers. The rates circulating in the market come from agencies and integrators, and the platform confirms them only during onboarding.
In the semi-managed model, where you ship yourself, commission runs 8% to 15% depending on category: 10-15% in fashion and beauty, 8-10% in electronics and toys. Registration and the account are free, and Temu charges neither a monthly fee nor listing fees.
In the consignment model Temu sets the price for the buyer, and commission drops to 2-5%. You pay less but lose control of the price, so for a brand with its own pricing policy this option rarely holds up.
Rates based on materials from agencies and integrators (marszalstudio.pl, getonecart, 2026), no fixed fees according to magnalister (May 2026). Temu does not announce a public price list and shows service fees in the seller panel and the seller agreement. Confirm every rate during onboarding.
The requirements are ordinary: a CEIDG or KRS entry (Polish business registers), a NIP tax number, a Polish business bank account, a Polish returns address and ID verification of the account holder.
There is no turnover threshold or required history on another marketplace. The platform decides on acceptance; we prepare the data and guide you through.
Seller Center account
You open an account in Temu EU Seller Center and choose the local seller path.
Documents and bank account
You upload company documents, bank details and a returns address, then pass identity verification.
Categories
You select the categories you want to sell in and wait for them to be approved.
Catalogue
You upload the catalogue: titles, attributes, variants, images and prices.
Shipping and launch
You configure shipping and handling time, then publish your first offers.
Opening the account itself takes a day. What takes longer is document verification and getting the catalogue to a state where offers pass the quality check.
In the local model you ship yourself. In Poland Temu uses Poczta Polska (the national post) and DHL, with no platform fulfilment for Polish sellers.
The platform holds you to deadlines. Late dispatch or a missing or wrong tracking number means a contractual penalty and, if repeated, lower offer visibility.
Before you start, add up parcel and return costs with commission. In categories with a low basket value, logistics eats the margin.
The EU abolished the customs exemption for parcels up to €150 and introduced a temporary fee of €3 for each tariff line in a distance-sales parcel. Five identical T-shirts count as one line, a T-shirt and a watch as two. It applies from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2028, after which normal customs rates take over.
The numbers show it. In August 2026 Temu had 12.82 million users in Poland, down from 16.68 million in June, after falling from eighth to fourteenth place among publishers in July.
For a local seller the same change works the other way. Goods shipped from a Polish warehouse do not pay the fee, so the price advantage of parcels from outside the EU has shrunk.
Temu shifts product responsibility onto the seller: safety and legality of the goods, an EU responsible person for cosmetics, packaging and environmental registrations, and GPSR information duties.
The platform itself is under scrutiny from the European Commission. In May 2026 it was fined €200 million under the Digital Services Act for a flawed risk assessment of sales of dangerous products, and separate proceedings over addictive app design are still ongoing.
The channel still makes sense, but you need to plan it with a buffer for rule changes during the year.

Temu works for products with a healthy unit margin, simple logistics and enough stock to absorb a sudden jump in orders after exposure in the app.
It does not work for brands that build a premium price and protect it on other channels. Temu compares offers on price and pushes the cheaper one higher, so the channel can damage your pricing policy elsewhere.
We start with the numbers: can your margin carry commission, the payment fee and parcel cost. If not, we say so before launch.
Then we handle EU Seller Center registration, prepare product data, connect orders to your system and run the account day to day: prices, stock, deadlines and responses to rule changes.
