In short
Empik Marketplace has around 12 million buyers a year, more than 30,000 sellers and over 27 million offers, and the marketplace passed PLN 1 billion in GMV in 2025.
Running an account is free, there are no listing fees and no subscription, and the commission follows the category, from 2.4% to 20% net.
Empik runs on Mirakl and a shared catalogue: every product hangs on an EAN, several sellers can sit under the same one, and price with service decides whose offer shows.
Empik is one of the most recognisable retail brands in Poland, and its marketplace long ago grew beyond books and multimedia. Today it is one of the leaders of Polish e-commerce, a channel that combines large online traffic with a network of stores. For you that means 12 million buyers in one place and a model where commission is due only on an accepted order. See how to enter.
Empik opened its platform to third-party sellers more than seven years ago, and since then the marketplace has become its growth engine. In 2025 it generated over PLN 1 billion in GMV and grew 40% year over year – the fastest of all the Group’s channels. In terms of real users, Empik stays in the top three Polish e-commerce platforms. The platform runs on a 3P model built on Mirakl technology, tied into its own online store and its shop network. More than 30,000 sellers trade there today, and the catalogue holds over 27 million offers.
The requirements for a business are transparent:
an active business,
registration and shipping from an EU country,
a business registered at least a month earlier,
an adult representative.
Registration starts with a form, and the application goes to Empik’s onboarding team, Seller Management, which decides who gets in. Empik runs on Mirakl, so part of the intake goes through Mirakl Connect, where the company data you complete once also serves your next Mirakl marketplace. Verification usually closes within one business day, and the terms allow longer. After acceptance you log into the Seller Management Center, set up payments through Przelewy24 and link a bank account in PLN.
Running an account is free, there are no listing fees and no subscription, and you pay commission on accepted orders. The rate follows the category and runs from 2.4% to 20% net, while goods outside the grid are charged at 30% net. Parts of the grid are tiered by price, so check your own category before you set prices. You can run this on your own figures in the ROI calculator.
For new sellers, Empik regularly offers welcome packages, sometimes 0% commission for up to three months, access to Empik Premium and a budget for Empik Ads. These are periodic offers, so it is worth confirming the current version when you register.
Although Empik grew out of books, press and multimedia, today the catalogue holds more than 27 million offers across a dozen or so categories. The fastest-growing areas are far beyond media, in 2025 gaming grew by 105%, health and beauty by 39%, electronics by 30%, toys by 25%, and sport by 23%. If you are in home, beauty, toys, sport or electronics, you have real room for growth. Remember the exclusions that apply to some product groups and the GPSR requirements (from 13 December 2024) regarding safety data.
Empik’s biggest logistics advantage is delivery to stores. In-store pickup is the most frequently chosen delivery option for empik.com customers, and the network numbers nearly 400 points (386 stores in 2025). Offers with delivery to stores could record up to twice the sales. You configure shipping yourself in the panel, with available courier integrations and a holiday mode for time off. Note that Empik communicates in-store pickup as a benefit; it does not officially confirm full ‘ship-it-for-me’ warehouse fulfilment, so this issue is best clarified directly.
On the data side, empik.com works based on a catalogue: each product is assigned a unique EAN code, and a built-in verifier checks whether a product already exists (then you add your offer) or a new card needs to be created. You can upload offers via XML, through the API, Mirakl Connect or ready integrations. Base.com, still widely known by its old name Baselinker, is the integrator most Polish sellers run their orders and listings on, and it plays the role Channable or plentymarkets play elsewhere in Europe. Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop and IdoSell connect as well.
More than 30,000 sellers trade on Empik today, and the platform has around 12 million buyers a year. The marketplace passed PLN 1 billion in GMV in 2025 (about 230 million €) and grew around 40% year over year, faster than any other channel in the group. Empik Premium members buy more often and across more categories, and Empik Ads lifts the visibility of an individual offer. If you want one more channel that puts you in front of a large Polish audience, Empik sits right behind Allegro, Poland’s dominant marketplace.
Empik works on a shared catalogue, so several sellers can sit under the same EAN. The platform decides whose offer shows by default, and price together with service quality carries the most weight in that call. Empik does not publish the formula it uses.
In practice daily price monitoring becomes part of running the channel, because a competitor who undercuts you by a small margin takes the traffic on the same product page. Dispatch times, cancellation rate and response time matter just as much: Mirakl-based marketplaces measure them against thresholds and can cut your visibility or pull an offer.
We run seller accounts on Empik Marketplace, from the application through to day-to-day sales. We prepare the data for registration and take you through the process, and the decision on who gets in stays with Empik. We build the catalogue and the EAN matching, connect the feed from Base.com, your ERP or whichever integrator you already run, and set up delivery, including pickup in Empik shops.
Where the data is in good shape, we publish tens and sometimes hundreds of offers a day, and we can tell you how fast your catalogue will move before the engagement starts. After launch we run the account day to day: prices, ratings, dispatch times and Empik Ads campaigns. The scope is set out on the Empik page.
