The client

The manufacturer sells combat sports equipment under its own brand. Since 2026 it has also distributed a foreign brand. It runs Allegro and its own shop in-house, and we ran the Decathlon channel.

Where it started

On a large sports marketplace, combat sports is a narrow category. Space is limited, and requirements for descriptions and parameters are specific. Within the range, sizing and intended use decide whether a buyer finds the right product at all. For a manufacturer, that means the channel has to be run properly or not at all.

What we did

  1. We handled listings and offer maintenance for the brand on Decathlon.
  2. We launched a second market in the same channel.
  3. We advised the client against entering another platform. At their volume, that model had no business case.

Results

The client sold on Decathlon across two markets, with offers run and maintained on our side.

What this means for you

Manufacturers in narrow sports categories often wonder whether a large sector marketplace makes sense for them. It does, as long as the channel has an owner. At a small volume, it’s worth working out first whether running it outside is cheaper than in-house. See how we run sales on Decathlon: Decathlon Marketplace
